Home Is Where the Heart Is

"Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration."  - Charles Dickens

Remember the post about how Davis and I were moving to Tupelo?  Well, we did...back in December.  For the past four months, we have been staying with Davis's parents.  Let me lead into this post by first stating for the record how unbelievably fortunate I am to have such AMAZING in-laws.  Seriously, their generosity and hospitality has been such a gift that we will always cherish.  That being said, I was super excited to finally close on our house and really begin our life in Tupelo.

The New Casa De Bond...I kid.  I'll post pics as we finish projects.
To say that closing on our house was a breeze would be laughable. We actually made an offer on the house back in January.  That's right, back in January.  Then, due to stupid flood zones and Uncle Sam, the closing was put off, then put off, and then put off again.  You all do remember that I'm pregnant, right?  I've had a recurring nightmare where Baby has arrived, and we're still in Davis's parents house, so the baby sleeps in a dresser drawer.  My need to get the nursery together and my life in some sort of order has been imperative!

So, fast forward to a few weeks ago, and the closing finally happens, and Davis and I are happy home owners (ACTUALLY, we're happy home owners of two houses...  if you or a friend is looking for a cozy little house in Meridian, holla at a gal).

Now, we are making curtains, buying new appliances, painting, and tackling project after project.

Meet My Super-Duper Big Dog Helper/Painting Apprentice

Last night, we actually slept in our new house.  I felt like a born-again adult!  :)  As a matter of fact, I am writing this blog from my living room.  While I will miss my mother-in-law's cooking and chocolate milkshakes (but no more than Davis undoubtedly), I am not too broken-hearted.  We moved right down the street.
